Divest from Death

Divest From Death is a campaign to pressure colleges and universities to divest from the top 5 U.S. companies profiting from war.

Dissenters aim to organize large numbers of young people to speak out and take action against war on their campuses and in their communities.  We understand that we can build a new common sense among our generation that centers humanity over profit and raises the profile of our issues in order to force the hand of institutions to make different decisions when it comes to the issues that impact our lives and militarized communities around the world.

Every year, U.S. war profiteers — Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, and Raytheon — fuel violence here and abroad with billions of dollars of weapons manufacturing to arm violent regimes in the Philippines, in Israel, and to local police departments across the U.S.

But from Chicago to Tehran, more and more eyes are opening to the brutal reality of white supremacist, settler-colonial regimes. When Israel rained down Boeing-made bombs on Palestinians in Gaza in May, the world protested — and again, tens of thousands of people took to the streets to defend our Haitian and Afghan siblings fleeing from catastrophes caused by decades of war, U.S. militarism, and racial capitalism.

Our communities are rising up to break the power of the U.S. war industry and halt the unjust war on communities of color around the world.
