Our Campaigns

Dissenters aim to organize large numbers of young people to speak out and take action against war on their campuses and in their communities.

We understand that we can build a new common sense among our generation that centers humanity over profit and raises the profile of our issues in order to force the hand of institutions to make different decisions when it comes to the issues that impact our lives and militarized communities around the world.

Every Dissenters chapter is running one of the three following campaigns: Divest From Death, Recruiters Off Campus, and Cops Off Campus.

Every year, U.S. war profiteers — Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, and Raytheon — fuel violence here and abroad with billions of dollars of weapons manufacturing to arm violent regimes in the Philippines, in Israel, and to local police departments across the U.S.

Divest From Death

Divest From Death is a campaign to pressure colleges and universities to divest from the top 5 U.S. companies profiting from war, including an annual Divest From Death Week of Action at campuses across the country.

Recruiters Off Campus

Recruiters Off Campus is a campaign to drive military and police recruiters out of schools and universities.

This campaign also works to end the pipeline of engineers and other recruits from STEM programs into the workforce for weapons manufacturers like Boeing & Raytheon.  Young people across the country are refusing to allow these predatory companies and institutions to steal their futures.

Cops Off Campus

Cops Off Campus is an effort to disarm and disband campus police forces. University campus police forces harass and profile not only Black, brown, queer, disabled and otherwise marginalized students, but also people who live in neighborhoods that are being gentrified by Universities.

Additionally, many campus police forces are armed. Cops Off Campus campaigns also frequently try to end collaborations between campus police and local law enforcement.

Our communities are rising up to break the power of the U.S. war industry and halt the unjust war on communities of color around the world.
